I believe a warm and harmonious home is one of the criteria of well-being, as it can give you lots of positive energy and a feeling of belonging. Wherever I have travelled or lived in the world ( from Tokyo to Portugal or India) I have always had an urge to rearrange the hotel room or flat I rented for higher comfort. Sometimes the most subtle of changes were enough to transform the atmosphere of the room, other times required the complete rearrangement of the furniture. The same is true for our permanent home which should reflect our personality, taste and lifestyle.
As I have lived abroad for years myself, I know what it takes to create a cosy home with a few but well selected pieces of furniture, carpets, pictures, plants, mirrors, etc. and proper lighting. In my work I like to combine Western interior design and arrangement ideas with the colors and textiles (eg.: nomadic rugs) of the East. In this process I find my original profession as an art-historian to be a great advantage, as I am not only concerned with the actual living space of an apartment or house, but with the architectural style of the building.
Designing the interior of a home is a delicate matter and can be quite a challenge. The work begins by understanding the mind of the client, and by creating a trusting environment, as we will be co-operating partners in a process that might take weeks or months. Without being too personal I have to get to know my clients, their lifestyle and aesthetic tastes, as well as their habits and hobbies etc.
Whatever style, color scheme, design or decoration we agree upon, it will reflect the personality and lifestyle of the client, so you can at long last fully enjoy your home.
